finished

here are a few of my stills from when animating woohoooooooooo!

three way door

today i have the task of creating a three way door...

2pm... i have finally managed to do it... i have now animated it aswell

didnt like the bump map so i changed it

i didnt liek the bump map so i changed the texture on the eye retina scanner

vending machine.

last to mke was the vending maching.. was ok to model..it just involved alot of pulling back on edges and verticies. the inconvenience lay in texturing it..or them. because i wanted the inside to by white (like all vending machines.) i had to select the face one by one

the tv by the door... IS ACTUUALY A TV MONITOR! DO NOT BE FOOLED. lol i made the buttons from glowing cylinders. i made a rectina scaner aswell this did take a long time

the transparency i had in the green food tubing hologram ddnt show up to well so i have to add spotlights to them to illuminate them more

playing with spotlighting...

in the other half of the room i am trying to create a comfore area... this are also needs tv's but i resized and modifies these tv's to take on a more weirder look.. see above
Today i have been creatint cusions and texturing then... i couldnt find and goo leather looking textures so i went with a fur one.... the ironically looked like leather when rendered.

a change

The team ha a group dicusson today and decided that my floor texture looked a little bit awkward because it was the same and the walls... so i tried to use a tile teture and bump map it.. might keep this

menu

To make things more intresting i created a menu board where the aliens could pick there food from...... but here was the twist... the aliens would pick there foom from a hologram which was the menu. then the food would arise from under the table as the later arive to it

the area where the tv was seem very empty and felt like it needed something there... i couldnt quite put my finger onit... thinkiing..

evening.. someone though that i was creating a sort of bar area in front ov the tv screen. it was a freat idea. i began thinkin about shapes... circular.. cube shaped??? i decided on circular.. i created it by extruding the verticies and moving them around

TV

Today i was thinkin about my sixth form common room from when i was in college. i remembered we had a television screen in there, that was the place where most people ate... so i figured... why not have one in my room....

the t

for the table i have deceided to use a rough mable texture. in the real world we people have smooth tables because it is more realistic to have a plat on a flat surface. i think it works well witht the theme(may change as time goes on)

UPDATE

the lighting i am currently using now to achieve the dark and gloomy mood are area light

chair input

here is the chair Alex designed with works as a hover board and chair(the other way round)
i have kept it a simple white for the time being as the room isnt complete yet. i think that before thinking about furniture you must have a partially completed

here are a few more..

i noticed that the bump mapping didnt stand out too well with the piping.. and the problem lay with fact that i ddnt want to increase the lighting as to change the mood of the room.... sooooooooo..... i decided to add a slight glow to the piping as shown above....

three pipes per table

Shown in this picture is the way i intend on attaching the piping to the tables

Now for the food pipes that i wanted to attach to the tables... i used the same technique i did while creating the main arches(extruding the faces on the cylinders at an angle) i created a texture myself (photoshop) and bump mapped it but gray scaling the image i made and adjusting the brightness and contrast to give a better effect. the texture i used for the floor and walls are as close as i could make to look like smooth yet rough marble

messing with the colour of lighting to suit the room... i tried a few colours in the room... but then i came to realise that i could choose unitl i had decided on the wall and floor's texture and colour
ive imported some of the tables i created... with a brown lambert on them.. i wanted to give the impression that the tables were floating so have attached spotlights underneath them. it looks ok but i dont like the hard light that the spotlight is giving off. im trying to rectify this now.

holograms? or food tubes ??

today i have been busy messing around with a little bit of lighting and glows... learnt a great deal.. i learnt that even the tiniest bit of lighting can cause a great effect on the glow. i decided to have glowing food tubes/holograms above the pillars which may carry food within them. (I ALSO ADDED RANDOM TEXTURES SO I COULD GET USED TO THEM. THESE ARENT THE TEXTURES I WANT TO USE!)

i forgot to add this image.. i was having a problem with rendering for two days.... for some reason i could only render the gargoils.. this problem later rectified itself without my aid.
